Blackthorne Mews

You follow a flickering light through the fog and find yourself here— a miniature street where stories live behind every crooked window.

The fog hasn’t lifted yet, but it will. This page is where the Mews slowly reveals itself: brick by brick, ghost by ghost, story by story.

Walls Cut & First Dry Fit

Update — November 2025

Before anything magical can rise on Blackthorne Mews, the bones have to be right. I cut all the exterior walls to size, marked out the window and door openings, and did the first dry fit — and honestly? It looks damn good. Everything lined up cleanly. Next step is the subfloor and planning the crawlspace that will hide the wiring chaos.

Foundations & Street Plan

Where the Mews stops being an idea and starts being wood, glue, and questionable measurements.

Baseboard, Crawlspace, and Regretting Nothing (Yet)

Update — October 2025

Laid out the house footprint, decided on a crawlspace height for wiring, and committed to the idea that the street needed room for removable seasonal overlays. Future me might complain. Present me is having fun.

Donovan’s Pub

The unofficial embassy of Irish stubbornness. This is where the first bricks rise and the first stories will be told.

Josie’s Haunted Tea Room

Somewhere between a sanctuary and a summoning circle. Also: cake.

Milk Door vs. Dutch Door

Concept Note

The old milk door wants to become a takeaway window; Josie wants a Dutch door and a ledge for gossip and scones. The building is still deciding.

The Seventh Page & The Silver Needle

Bookstore below, yarn shop above. Stories in both directions.

Residents of the Mews

The people (and creatures) who call Blackthorne Mews home.

Maker’s Grimoire

Technical notes for fellow miniature makers: wiring diagrams, laser settings, materials, and all the little tricks that make the street come alive.

Lighting Zones & Power Plan

Build Note

Emylo switching, separate zones for pub, shops, and alley, and a crawlspace just high enough to hide the chaos. LEDs with built-in resistors now; extra resistors ready to dim the glow where needed.
